Leading the way in Radiopharmaceutical Therapy
February 18, 2026
Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore is proud to have been designated a “Clinical Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Centre of Excellence” by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), USA, following a vetting process by leading experts in the field. This recognition affirms that our hospital has the expertise, personnel, equipment, and experience required to manage patients undergoing radiopharmaceutical therapy. We are honoured to be the first centre in Asia to receive this SNMMI designation. Radiopharmaceutical therapy is a highly specialised form of treatment that uses radioactive compounds to precisely target and destroy cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. Among the radionuclide therapies offered at SKMCH&RC is Lutetium-177 (Lu-177) treatment, which has shown remarkable success in managing specific cancers, including neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancer.
