Renovation completed at Shaukat Khanum Pathology Laboratory in Lahore with a new Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) system

An entire floor in the Services Building at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore has been renovated to upgrade and enhance a range of laboratory services. This renovation has enabled the consolidation of previously scattered laboratory services, the successful implementation of a state-of-the-art Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) system, and alignment with standards prescribed by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). These enhancements have significantly increased the capacity and operational efficiency of the pathology department leading to optimised resource utilisation, streamlined workflows, and improved turnaround times, translating into faster, more accurate diagnostic reporting and a higher standard of care. The TLA system automates the entire laboratory process, from sample receipt to reporting of results, minimising manual handling, reducing the risk of errors, and enabling the lab to manage high volumes of samples with greater precision and speed.
